Right across the river from the historic center of Sevilla is the site of Seville Expo ’92: A Postmodern Legacy built to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Americas. The Isla de la Cartuja site remains one of the world’s most unique collections of postmodern architecture. I am starting a series of blog posts which will explores the ‘tucked-away’ pavilions and forgotten monuments of a site that once welcomed 40 million visitors to the heart of Andalusia. The Navigation Pavilion is along the Guadalquivir River in this shot, and the structure in the river is the Schindler Tower, both designed by architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra.
