Circus Arts

Master Plan, including site re-development, new construction, and renovation of existing arena including 25,160 SF of existing structures & 86,771 SF of proposed Buildings, on 2.2 Acres

The Circus Arts Conservatory serves as a legacy to those that have set the standards for international circus performance. Founded in 1997 as “Circus Sarasota”, the organization was re-branded in 2013 as “The Circus Arts Conservatory”, a non-profit performing arts educational organization.
Known as the “Circus Capital of the World”, Sarasota claims Circus Sarasota as its own resident hometown circus. The annual professional performances, showcased in one- ring, five-star, European-style big top, have been acclaimed around the globe for world- class artistry and entertainment. The Circus Arts Conservatory hopes to grow this big top tent into a modern iconic circus campus of Sarasota, serving the students and providing 5 star performances for the city.

The program for the 20-year master plan includes 3,000 square feet of concessions, restrooms, storage, and HVAC & fire sprinklers for the existing tent, as well as 8,500 square feet of dressing rooms and warm up space, 37,000 square feet of training space for the performers and students and office space, and 3,000 square feet of lobby with ticket sales, restroom, giftshop, and a museum for the visitors. The master plan addition is designed to be built around the existing 25,000 square foot tent and replace the trailers that are currently being used as offices.
CSA provided concept designs for the master plan to support the Capital Campaign. These include a concept master plan, concept floor plans, concept 3D renderings, and a concept phasing plan.
